<p>An anchor, surrounded by preliminary concrete, and connected to a plinth by tension elements protruding through recesses and fixed with secondary concrete, is contained in a concrete base, providing anchorage for a metal plinth on a container, machine or engine, esp. in a cooling system in a nuclear power station. The anchor (11) has upward-open hollow units (14), penetrating rigid metal bar-shaped or tubular thrust elements (17) connected to the plinth (4), with room for play. The room or space allowing play is filled with secondary concrete (9). The hollow units pref. extend at least to the surface of the preliminary concrete, while the thrust elements penetrate at least to the extent of the width of the hollow units. This provides reliable absorption of lateral forces, such as those caused by earth tremors. Useful in cooling systems of atomic power stations.</p> |
