This transvenous connector allows connection to be made between a pacemaker and both, the atrium and the ventricle of the heart. A closed loop provides anchoring of the connector in a vein. An electrode connected to an outer insulated conductor provides one contact, whilst another electrode at the end of an inner insulated conductor, makes contact with the wall of the ventricle as it slides forward in the outer conductor when moved by the surgeon. In its final position the inner conductor is fixed by a clamp at its other end where the exposed ends of the two conductors are connected to the pacemaker. |
