<p>PURPOSE:To enable the connection of the members made of PEEK to the firmly achieved by adhering or melding, and more over to improve the surface properties of melded parts by heating and nonfoam-treating at least adjacency to the part to be connected of the member made of polyester etherketone (PEEK). CONSTITUTION:In the connection of the pipe line made of PEEK, first the pipe line parts to be connected, e.g. pipes, joints, valves, etc. are prepared, and the pipe, etc. are cut into required lengths. All these pipe line parts or the adjacency of said parts to be connected, are heated with a heater 1, and while the heated temperature is kept for a constant time, nonfoam-treatment is carried out. Then, the degree or time of heating is different with the shape or size of the parts to be connected, but 200-240 deg.C and 1-3hr are generally determined to be used as a standard. Then, the heater 1 of a cap shape is fitted onto the end of the pipe 2 to be connected, and a suitable heat insulating material 3 is attached to the outer periphery of the pipe 2. Such heating is profitable. The end surface of the pipe is finished smoothly so that no gaps are generated between both end surfaces to be connected of the parts to be connected.</p> |
