PURPOSE:To minimize the dispersion of temperature in the most cold portion and eliminate the irregularity of color phase by providing a heat-insulating film composed of aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide on the outer surface of a luminous tube near electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the luminous tube 2 are provided with the main electrodes 5 and 6, and also the auxiliary electrode 7 for start-up purpose is provided in close proximity to the main electrode 6. Also, near the main electrodes of the luminous tube 2, or the outer surface of the most cold portion, is covered with the heat-insulating films 16 and 17 which are formed by baking aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide, having a thickness of 100mum or more at every portion. |
