Return suction pressure breaker - is for water distribution systems and works at atmospheric pressure without moving parts using venturi tube

The pressure breaker (1) is shaped like a venturi tube with a large dia. area (3) upstream of the smaller dia. area (4). The tube must be vertical and is placed between the tap outlet (2) and the supply pipe (5), the fixing being by serrated teeth. When water flows downwards there is a suction effect in the bottom of the tube drawing air in through air inlets (10) arranged around the tube, but when there is a return pressure up the pipe, the air vents act as relief valves, so that water does not pass up into chamber (15).
