The grip control mechanism is for the cylinders of sheet-processing machines, partic. printing presses, comprising a cam drive and overridable spring grips on the grip shaft. Near the line joining the two centres of adjacent cylinders, the grips of the transferring and the receiving cylinders secure the sheet simultaneously. At this line (4) the cams (11) of the cylinders (1.1, 1.2) have a constant slope, so as to give a steadily increasing or decreasing overriding action on the grips (3.1, 3.2) as they open and shut during sheet transfer.
