Rail mounted staircase ascending device - has rotation of cable winch motor controlled by switches along rail

The device comprises a wheeled platform which is pulled along the rail by a winch cable passing around two winch drums and pulleys at the top and bottom of the staircase. The cable is broken at the platform and attached to opposite sides of it. A number of switches are positioned at different points along the length of the rail corresponding to each floor level allowing the platform to be temporarily halted and then moved onwards or backwards. The switches are pref. coupled to a control relay for the winch motor causing it to be driven in one direction or the other.
