The plate has holes through which the wire-wrap pins pass. (The pins may be square or round). The plate (1) is in the form of a strip and the holes (2) are distributed along it at intervals corresponding to the intervals between pins (7). The holes are X-shaped so that four springy contact flaps point towards the pin and touch the pin's outer surface. The distance between the contacting edges of opposing flaps depends on the size and shape of the pin. For example with a rectangular pin the flaps rest on its flat faces and the contacting edges in one direction are further apart than those in the other direction. Several such strips may be fabricated from one metal sheet and separated by perforations that may be cut to remove any strip.
