The pH of at least two standard solns. with known pH are measured as voltages (U1,U2) and are automatically stored and compared with the known pH values to obtain a straight line graph indicating the relationship between the actual voltages obtd. by the measuring electrode and the correct pH value. The measurement of the voltages obtd. from the standard solns. is pref. repeated automatically after prescribed time intervals. The pref. electronic appts. includes an analogue digital converter, a memory store, and a microprocessor. The zero point and steepness of the graph correlating voltage and pH can be checked at desired intervals.
