PURPOSE:To obtain a positive electrode molded body of a high density by treating monovalent silver oxide or its positive electrode mixture with acetone or a specific alcohol in order to improve the fluidity of the silver oxide powder and also to increase its bulk density. CONSTITUTION:Monovalent silver oxide powder alone or its positive electrode mixture powder is treated with acetone or one or more of 1-4C alcohols, e.g., methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, etc. For example, 500g of monovalent silver oxide is dipped in 1l of acetone for 30min with stirring and then taken out of acetone and dried under vacuum condition. Also, a 90:5:5 (by weight) mixture of monovalent silver oxide, manganese dioxide, and flaky graphite, as a positive electrode mixture powder, may be treated likewise. Thus, the fluidity and bulk density of the powder are increased and hence a high density positive electrode molded body can be obtained with a high weighing accuracy by a volumetric weighing method. |
