The spindle (7) may be mounted on ball bearing races (6) in a sleeve (3). A radial feeler face (17) aligns in the regrinding plane (8), and is inclined to the grinder feed vector. The feeler (16) leads the grinder (14) onto the tool (9). Grinder (14) to tool (9) misalignments result in the feeler (16) rotating the spindle (7) and the resulting correction of grinder (14) alignment.
