Capacitor bridge transducer - has its balance changed by position of non-uniform dielectric

The capacitative bridge sensor has a balance which is changed by movement of a dielectric of non-uniform permittivity between the plates of the capacitors in the bridge. The plates of the bridge capacitors are arranged to overlap one another from opposite sides of the dielectric. The dielectric consists of a check board of high permittivity material and of holes cut into it to form as air space for a rectilinear motion sensor and of a sectored disc in an angular motion sensor. The transducer may be incorporated in a pick up head for stereophonic disks.
