Granular material drying process - cools ambient air to first temp. before heating to second temp. for moisture absorption

The process dries granular material such as casein, using ambient air of a set temp. and humidity. The air is first cooled to a first temp. and it is then heated to a second temp. after which it is humidified by absorption of moisture from the material to be dried. Where the ambient air temp. is below the first temp. it can be immediately heated to the second temp. and heating and cooling can be aided by heat exchange between different stages through which it flows.
