摘要 The invention relates to a hollow braided wire cord made of synthetic fiber that is resistant to pulling, tearing, and abrasion as well as having hydrophobic properties, such as, for example, polyamide, polypropylene, polyester. The inventive cord is particularly suitable for use as a floating or weighting cord for fishing nets or fish-farming nets in the icy-cold near-surface zone of the entire hydrosphere. On the site of use of the floating or weighting agents, the twist angle of the individual or multiple-wound monofilament synthetic fiber wires is adjusted to the direction of twist by cadenced deceleration of the withdrawal speed during the lacing twine braiding procedure. This means that, by first broadening and then narrowing the wire hollow braid sheath, the preferably ellipsoidal floating or weighting agent is firmly lodged and enclosed in the wire braid sheath without additional burr fibres. The wires have a diameter or 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm and are braided by a braiding machine having 16 or 24 lacing twines to give a hollow cord with a diameter of 3-7 mm. The cord is characterized particularly by high resistance to abrasion and breaking.
