PURPOSE:To provide a cold rolled nonoriented electrical steel sheet having especially low iron loss and contg. C, Si, Al, Mn and especially Sn each in a predetemined percentage other than the balance essentially of Fe. CONSTITUTION:This sheet is composed of C<=0.02%, Si 0.1-3.5%, Al<=1.0%, Mn 0.1-1.0%, Sn 0.03-0.40% and the balance Fe. The iron loss of a conventional nonoriented silicon steel sheet is lowered by alloying Sn. This sheet is manufactured as follows: an ingot or a slab of the above-mentioned composition is hot rolled by a known method, and the hot rolled plate is freed of oxide scale by pickling or other methed and cold rolled. The electromagnetic characteristics of the resulting sheet are very superior, e.g., as shown by W10/50:2.65W/kg, W15/50;5.90W/kg and B50;1.76T. |
