<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the removal of the coating part of an optical fiber core by moving two knife-edges and two base bodies at right angles to the axis of the optical fiber core and cutting the coating part of the optical fiber core with the knife-edges. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 34 and 35 for guiding the optical fiber core 38 are formed in the opposite surfaces 32 and 33 of the two base bodies 30 and 31 which are superposed one over another, and those grooves are provided with the knife-edges 32 and 33 at a specific angle to the axial direction of the optical fiber core 8. The knife-edges 36 and 37 are provided to the grooves 34 and 35 correspondingly and face each other when the base bodies 30 and 31 are superposed. The 1st and the 2nd base bodies 30 and 31 have mechanisms which move relatively at right angles to the axis of the optical fiber core 8 when they are superposed, and the two knife-edges 36 and 37 come closer to each other through the mechanism to cut the clad 3 of the coating of the optical fiber core 8.</p> |
