A liquid extraction cleaner 10 having a spray nozzle 394 which is visibly mounted to the front face of a front portion such that the spray pattern is visible to the user as cleaning fluid is dispensed. Preferably a handle portion 19 is provided and the cleaner may comprise a receptacle formed in the cleaner housing shaped to receive the cleaning fluid supply tank. The spray nozzle 394 may be adjustable. The cleaner may comprise a suction conduit comprising a tube integrally formed with the recovery tank housing. Accessory tools may be attached to the cleaner housing 12 or the recovery tank 20. A storage base for such a cleaner which may house a rechargeable battery and a liquid extraction cleaner having a motor comprising as pair of output shafts, one being attached to the pump and the other to the vacuum source are also disclosed.
