Optical maneuvering aid for automobile

The optical maneuvering aid (1) uses optical sensors (2-5), e.g. miniature CCD cameras, for scanning the area to the front and rear of the vehicle, coupled to a freely programmable optical display (1), which is switched between different display modes dependent on the selected driving gear and/or the vehicle velocity, for displaying the images provided by the optical sensors, or other driving information. An Independent claim for a method for providing an optical maneuvering device for an automobile is also included.
