PURPOSE:To reduce wow and flutter for reproducing, by giving a prescribed delay time to respective signals of recording and reproducing according to change of the instantaneous value for the average value of the movement speed of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:At a recording operation time, a signal is supplied from input terminal 2 through variable delay circuit 16 to recording head 3 and is recroded onto signal track 1a of magnetic tape 1. Simultaneously, the first signal, namely, the signal of a frequency corresponding to the instantaneous value of the running speed of the tape is supplied to one input of phase comparator 18 from speed signal generator 12 according to running of tape 1, and the second signal, namely, the signal of a frequency corresponding to the average value of the tape running speed is supplied to the other input from voltage control oscillator 13 through variable delay circuit 17, and a voltage corresponding to the phase difference between them is supplied to the control input of voltage control oscillator 19 to control the delay time. At a reproducing operation time, similar operations are performed. As a result, wow and flutter caused for reproducing are reduced even for irregularity of the tape running speed. |
