摘要 |
<p>PURPOSE:To detect curvature very near a rolling mill without being affected by an atmosphere by projecting two slanting light beams on the tip part of a rolled material, and detecting the distance between the two spots by an optical sensor and calculating the quantity of the curvature. CONSTITUTION:The two slanting light beams B1 and B2 are projected on one surface of the tip part of the stock 3 to be rolled right after being sent from rolling rolls 2 at a specific distance. The optical sensor 5 detects the two optical spots formed on one surface of the stock 3 with the two slanting light beams B1 and B2. Then an arithmetic unit 6 calculates the quantity of curvature of the stock 3 according to the distance between the two optical spots. Measurement information on the curvature is inputted properly to a rolling mill controller 7 and then the facilities are prevented from breaking down and stopping, thereby improving productivity.</p> |
