<p>PURPOSE:To produce titled sliding material having excellent frictional wear characteristics and loading characteristics, by a method wherein a resin-treated carbon yarn is spirally wound on a core metal, a resin-treated base material is wound on the carbon yarn and a curing treatment is carried out at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A carbon filament having a diameter of several mu is woven into a circular or flat carbon yarn having a cross section of 3-15mm.. The carbon yarn is impregnated with 40-65wt% of a thermosetting resin. The resin-treated carbon yarn at an ordinary room temp. or in a heated state is spirally wound on a core metal at regular intervals. A ribbon-form synthetic resin-treated base material (e.g. metallic yarn, sail cloth) is wound on the carbon yarn so as to fill up gaps between the carbon yarns. Alternatively, a wide synthetic resin-treated base material is wound on the carbon yarn while the base material is heated under pressure. Then a curing treatment is carried out at a temp. of 120-180 deg.C for several hours. The core metal is removed to obtain a sliding material made of a laminated synthetic resin in which the surface of the carbon yarn is the same level as the sliding surface or is slightly projecting from the sliding surface.</p> |
