PURPOSE:To make possible the time setting of both display mechanisms of hand type display and digital type display by performing the position detection of the hands used for the hand type display by the varying intensities of the quantity of light. CONSTITUTION:In the electronic wristwatch provided with both display mechanisms of analog display and digital display, the watch body 1 is provided with the minute hand 2 and hour hand 3 of the analog display mechanism and digital display part 4 on its dial 6. The detection of the varying intensities of the quantity of light is accomplished by CCDs10-12. In order to give boundaries to the CCDs, a ring 13 insensitive to the varying intensities of the quantity of light is fitted. With the ring 13 in-between, 60 pieces of the CCDs10 are embedded on the dial. 60 pieces of the CCDs correspond to 0-59min and 12 pieces of the CCDs to 0-11 o'clock. In order to give the varying intensities of the quantity of light, lamps 14 having areas smaller than the chip area of one CCD chip are embedded on the back side of the hour hand 8 and minute hand 7. |
