PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laminated film having high oxygen and steam barrier properties by providing a layer made of a resin exhibiting optical anisotropy when melted and a layer made of a composition containing an inorganic layer compound and a resin. SOLUTION: The gas barrier laminated film is formed by providing a layer made of a resin exhibiting optical anisotropy when melted and a layer made of a composition containing an inorganic layer compound and a resin. The container is formed by using the laminated film. Then, as the resin exhibiting the anisotropy when melted, a liquid crystal polyester resin composition having a liquid crystal polyester as a continuous phase and a copolymer having a functional group including a reactivity with the polyester as a dispersing phase is preferably used. As the polyester, a polymer called a 'thermotropic liquid crystal polymer' is used. Specifically, a composition obtained by reacting an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, an aromatic diol, and an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid is used.
