PURPOSE:To jointly produce methanol and ammonia as well as to make use of waste energy, by utilizing valuable components and pressure using the waste gas of a methanol synthesis system as a raw material gas for an ammonia synthesis system. CONSTITUTION:The waste gas from a methanol synthesis system is passed through a series of processes involving steam reforming, CO conversion at high temperature, removal of CO2, rise of pressure, synthesis of methanol, and methanation, and then supplied to the ammonia synthesis system. Said steam reforming of the waste gas is conducted at a pressure of 40kg/cm<2>G or more, and the amount of steam to be supplied to the primary steam reformer for the waste gas from the methanol synthesis system is requlated to approx. 0.4 parts on the basis of the amount of dry gas at the inlet of a high-temperature CO converter. Thus, the removal of trace CO and CO2 and the synthesis of methanol are conducted without the use of a low-temperature CO converter. |
