PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion light source capable of meeting various needs. SOLUTION: The insertion light source comprises the first magnet row 3m with many magnets arranged in a row, the first supporting body to which the first magnet row is fixed, the second magnet row 4m with many magnets arranged in a row, the second supporting body to which the second magnet row is fixed, a gap formed between the first magnet row 3m and the second magnet row 4m through which, electron beam passes through, and driving devices K1, K2 driving at least either the first supporting body or the second supporting body in order to change the distance of the gapsδ1,δ2. In order to make the distanceδ1,δ2 of the gaps from the entrance to the exit of the electron beam change in a slanted state, the driving devices K1, K2 are constituted so as to make at least either the first supporting body or the second supporting body possible to be driven.
