PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus and an electronic conference system using the same which convert conference materials recorded on a document like paper into electronic data and use the electronic data on site for progress of a conference. SOLUTION: The system is provided with the image reading apparatus, at least one terminal device, and a network which connects the image reading apparatus and the terminal device. The image reading apparatus is provided with a network connection means which is an interface to the network, an image reading means which reads an image from the document, a storage means where image data read with the image read means is stored, and a delivery control means which delivers image data stored in the storage means through the network. The terminal device is provided with a network connection means which is an interface to the network, a reception means which receives image data delivered from the picture reader, and a display means which display image data received with the reception means.
