Device for plotting an electrostatic pattern on the plotting surface of an image carrier, especially an image cylinder of a toner type printer. Device comprises a print head with a number of contact elements with one or more cleaning devices (23) for cleaning the contact elements. An Independent claim is made for a method for cleaning the contact elements of an electrostatic print head in which the elements are cleaned after two sequential plotting processes.
