Vibration appts. for e.g. testing antiskid systems - has shaped pieces on vehicle tyres and test rollers

The single vibration device for vehicles with antilock braking systems enables the components of the systems to be tested under representative vibration conditions. Several specially shaped pieces are attached to the surface of a tyre which contacts the road. Additional specially shaped pieces are attached to the contact surface of a roller test bed roller. The tyre attachments may be fixed using a strap clamped to the wheel hub. The roller attachments may be moved in and out of the roller, thus varying their effective height. The outer or operating surfaces of the shaped pieces may be inclined to the corresp. wheel or roller axle. The amplitude of the applied vibrations varies with the thickness of the shaped pieces and the effective speed of the vehicle.
