SUBSTANCE: the claimed fragmentation warhead has a body, matrix with ready-made hitting components, explosive charge, retainer, cover and a housing. The thin-walled housing is positioned between the explosive charge and the matrix with ready-made hitting components, at least three longitudinal riffles with a width of 0.2 to 0.5 of the matrix wall thickness are made on the housing surface, and from the front the housing is provided with an annular flange. The body has an annular shoulder, the annular flange is installed for engagement with the annular shoulder and is rigidly fixed to the housing. The retainer is made in the form of a threaded ring, whose inside diameter does not exceed the housing diameter along the longitudinal riffles. The inside diameter of the longitudinal riffles makes up 0.93 to 0.97 of the explosive charge diameter in the area of its contact with the housing. EFFECT: enhanced safety of ammunition both in service handling and at a shot, simplified procedure of assembly and loading of the warhead, provided necessary efficiency of fragmentation action. 2 dwg
