Electrically actuated safety ski binding with rechargeable battery - uses current generator with rotary armature driven by ski movement

The ski binding has a rechargeable battery and a charging circuit for the latter. This employes an electro magnetic current generator (11) attached to the ski (12) with its rotary armature (13) driven by the movement of the ski (12), via a drive wheel (14). Pref. the drive wheel is carried by a shaft (15) extending transverse across the ski (12) so that the wheel lies to one side of the ski edge, its lowest point lying slightly below the lower ski surface. The drive wheel is coupled to the rotary armature via intermediate gear wheels carries by the transverse shaft and the armature shaft respectively.
