PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply slag of the kinds and amounts meeting a demand and to effectively recycle the slag by resource recovery thereof. SOLUTION: A base surface 1a at the downflow terminal of a trough 1 is provided with a nozzle orifice 4 which is openable and closable by a plug 3 and the downflow terminal thereof is provided with a branching trough 6 which is capable of opening and closing a flow passage by a movable weir 5. A direction switching dispersion plate 7 is arranged perpendicularly below the nozzle orifice 4. The branching trough 6 is communicated with a slow cooling treatment section 14. The direction switching dispersion plate 7 is constituted in such a manner that the flow passage is switched to a water granulating treatment section 10 and an air granulating treatment section 12. As a result, the change in the flow rate by the peeling and downflow of deposits and the adhesion thereof to the downflow side trough is substantially eliminated in the water granulating or air granulating treatment by utilizing the nozzle orifice. The water granulating or air granulating is instantaneously switched and the problems, such as the lowering of the flow rate, the growth of the deposits and the downflow of the peeled deposits are minimized. The movable weir structure is adopted for the flow passage to the slow cooling treatment, by which the overflow of the trough is prevented and the safety is assured.
