MANUFACTURING OF RUBBER ELASTIC VIBRATION DAMPING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature dependency of vibration damping effect by adding a vulcanizing agent and stretching oil to the rubber base comprising FS (silicone rubber) and CIIR (partially bridged butyl rubber) and then kneading them. CONSTITUTION:Stretching oil equal to or less than 20pts.wt. and reinforcing filler equal to or less than 60pts.wt. are added and contained to rubber base of 100pts.wt. and then vulcanized to such level that loss factor tan theta is within 0.2-1.3. For example, silicone rubber base (FS) of 75pts.wt. and partially bridged butyl rubber (CIIR) of 25pts.wt. are kneaded by means of a roller, and a vulcanizing agent of 1.5pts.wt. is added thereto. After kneading it, stretching oil such as silicone oil of 10pts.wt. is added and then kneaded. By so doing, hardness of the obtained material is reduced and the temperature dependency of its vibration damping effect becomes less.
