Pulp clarification system - by flotation of contaminants and odorants with biological sludge

Contaminants and odoriphores in pump and turbid effluents in sewage treatment installations are removed by passing the pulp through a flotation basin fr the thickening of biological sludge. The flocks of the biological sludge have strongly adsorbent properties so that the contaminants adhere to them and are raised to the surface. Even particles which are not floated just by the air bubbles are thus taken to the surface where a very greatly thickened floating layer can be removed by raking arms or worm conveyors. This offers a simple and effective way of removing contaminants and odoriphores.
