<p>The rope hoist has two automatic grip blocks. The clamping jaws are slid by an operating lever in opposite directions by a linkage, so as alternately to grip and move the rope and slide along it. One of the blocks is subject to less wear than the other. This can be achieved by making the jaws on one shorter than those on the other, or of more wear-resistant material, or lining the rope grooves in one pair with such material.</p> |
