PURPOSE:To obtain the rated output of transformer with small input by a method wherein a transformer coil is cooled with liquid nitrogen to make the specific resistance of the coil to be small. CONSTITUTION:A primary coil 1 and a secondary coil 3 are put in a liquid nitrogen cooler, and are cooled to -198--183 deg.C. At this time, the specific resistance of copper becomes 1/6 of the resistance at the rated operation in the ordinary temperature 60 deg.C to reduce the sectional area of primary coil of transformer to 1/6 making the number of turns to be 6 times. Reducing the input to 1/6, keeping the induction magnetic force in a core 2 to be the same as rating and keeping the number of turns of secondary coil to be the predetermined value, a rated output is obtained. By this way, reducing the input to 1/6, the rated output can be obtained. |
