A mobile communication system having an automatic link recovery function and a method for controlling the same are provided to maximize the stabilization of operation by installing a plurality of signaling links and switching a fault link into a normal link in consideration of a state of the other side's transmitting part. A mobile communication system having an automatic link recovery function comprises a detection part(2), a negotiation part(5), and a control part(6). The detection part(2) detects states of each link LOH(Line Overhead), and outputs fault-associated information. The negotiation part(5), in case the detection part(2) detects a fault in a link, inserts the detection result into a negotiation signal, transmits it to the other side's device, and confirms whether it will be no problem that the currently occupied link is switched into another link. The control part(6) carries out link switching according to a link switching negotiation result inputted through the negotiation part(5).
