PURPOSE:To enable parallel operation of a number of amplifiers with small sized construction, by constituting the branch unit and adder through electromagnetic coupling of the coaxial cable to the cylindrical cavity type resonator. CONSTITUTION:The coaxial cable 14a of the branch unit input terminal 11 of the cylindrical cavity resonator 13 of TM010 mode is fitted to the center of the circular plane, the electric field is excited with the needle shape inner conductor 15, and the magnetic field is turned out zero when the electric field is maximum. Further, the coaxial cable 14b of the branch unit output terminals 12a, 12b,... is fitted at about the center on the cylindrical plane taking the magnetic field as maximum so that the loop surface of the innerconductor 15 is vertical to the magnetic field. In this case, the load impedance of the branch unit output end is set equal to the characteristic impedance of the coaxial cable. Thus, the power transmitted from the input terminal of branch unit is distributed into the power corresponding to the number of branch and picked up from the output terminal. Since the branch unit and adder have reversible operation each other, the adder shown opposite operation as mentioned. |
