A l.v. lamp holder, esp. for traffic signal lamps, consists mainly of a parabolic reflector with a central opening for a lamp socket and a transformer housing behind the reflector. The housing accommodates a transformer providing a relative l.v. for the lamp from the mains supply. The transformer has a circular core with an axis aligning with that of the reflector. It surrounds a retaining fastening matching the lamp socket. The circular core is bounded both in front and behind, by essentially conical surfaces in parallel with each other and with the part of the reflector in front of them. The transformer housing has a wall facing behind and also extending essentially in parallel with the parabolic reflector.
