摘要 PURPOSE:To make a passive-type atomic frequency device structure simplified extremely by superimposing a DC and AC magnetic field to be applied to a gas cell, using the same C-magnetic field coil. CONSTITUTION:An energy level interval of Rb is proportional to square of a magnetic field intensity, therefore the following formula is obtained: f=f0+573H<2> (Oersted) where f0 represents a resonant frequency at zero-hour magnetic field. A DC magnetic field (C-magnetic field) caused to vary in audio frequency is equivalent to the state of a microwave modulated. Outputs of an audio oscillator 10 and a DC power supply 41 are combined and fed to a coil 15 of the C-magnetic field. Voltage of the power supply 41 is set to a central value of the C-magnetic field so that it may not be inversed by the C-magnetic field effect. A partial output of the audio oscillator 10 is applied to a synchro-detector 11 and an obtained reference voltage is supplied to a voltage-variable crystal oscillator 16. Thus all portions to be modulated are of audio frequency or DC. This facilitates design and fabrication of the device, and also a frequency multiplier 18 is made available on a simple structure as pure frequency multiplier.
