An information board (see Figs. 1 and 2) for the formation of signs such as figures, letters, patterns etc. According to the invention the device comprises a greater panel (1) and a smaller panel (2), a first of which includes a chequered pattern with transparent fields (4) surrounded by white (5) or black (3) fields of substantially the same size as the transparent fields, and a second of which includes a chequered pattern with black fields (3) surrounded by white (5) or transparent (4) fields where the first panel (1) is located closest to an observer. The panels (1, 2) are arranged close to and above one another and are movable relative to each other in a direction in parallel with a side of a field (3, 4, 5) at least through a distance corresponding to a side of a field (3, 4, 5).
