During the last stage of the digestion cycle, the extraction liquor is brought from the digestion units 1 to a balancing tank 9 under pressure. The extraction liquor or the steam which is released from it is brought, under controlled flow, from the tank 9 towards a user zone during the process or an attached process or towards a heat-recovery unit 30. The liquor can be conducted, in particular, from the tank 9 to a first cyclone 20.
