Guide system for rotary drum coal cutting machine - has inner and outer rollers at ends, rotating against guide plate above face conveyor

The rotary drum coal cutting machine with a spiral cutter, travels along guide frames, above a face conveyor (2), one each side. The outer guide frame includes a vertical strip (5) with a V shaped extension (18) on the inside against which rotates a guide wheel (17) with a V shaped edge, one each end of the machine. Mounted on the same axis as the rear guide wheel, is a drive wheel (8) with teeth which engage a toothed rack above the guide wheel. Also mounted slightly inwards of each guide wheel, is a smaller guide wheel (19) rotating about a vertical axis, in contact with outside face of the vertical strip. The guide and drive wheels are positioned to permit the machine to travel around right angle bends.
