<p>PURPOSE:To permit speady and accurate replacement of friction pad by providing a caliper for rotation about a pin so that a pad can be completely exposed from the caliper at the time of its replacement. CONSTITUTION:For the replacement of friction pads 7 and 9, a bolt 20 is detached from a pin 4. Then, by turning a caliper 5 in the direction of arrow 18, it is rotated together with a leg 5a, a postion 8, a leg 5b and an annular portion 5c about the other end 3b of a pin 3 in a pin reception hole 5d. When the caliper 5 is rotated by a predetermined angle, a mounting bracket 1, a first friction pad 7, a back plate 7a, a disc 2, one ends of pins 3 and 4, a back plate 9a and a second friction pad 9 are exposed. Thus, the pads can be readily removed by withdrawing the pad 9 and back plate 9a from the pins 3 and 4, pulling them in a direction tangential to the disc 2 and then pushing the pad 7 and back plate 7a from the side of the disc.</p> |
