Optical brightener-free textile detergent compsn. - contg. aliphatic polyglycol ether(s), alkyl-pyridinium salt and standard additives

Powdery of liq. textile detergent compsn. contains, by wt (a) 5-50%of >=1 aliphatic polyglycol ether having formula R'R2CHCH2O(CH2CHO)nH(I)(where R1 is a linear 8-20C alkyl or alkenyl gp; R2 is H or 1-4C alkyl and n is 2-20), (b) 0.5-10(2-6)% 12-16C alkyl-pyridinium salt, (II) and (c) 40-94.5% standard detergent compsn. components. Textiles can be washed by hand or machine at =60 Degrees C. The compsns. have high washing power, optimum foaming behavious and are free from optical brighteners. Optical brightener transfer from brightener transfer from brightener-contg. laundry pieces to brightener-free laundry during washing is prevented by (II) and colour tone displacement are avoided.
