PURPOSE:To prevent compact, thinly-made batteries from extreme reduction of capacity by forming a silver layer only on a portion of the surface of silver oxide positive electrode pellet mounted on the center of bottom surface of positive electrode can. CONSTITUTION:On the central portion of the bottom surface of a positive electrode can 1 is mounted a positive electrode pellet 2 made of press-molded mixture of active silver mono- or bi-oxide and binder such as Teflon. A portion of the surface of this pellet 2, for example only the surface engaging a positive electrode can 1 or only same and the side surface is formed with silver layers 2c, 2b are adapted to oppose to a negative electrode 6 through a separator 3 and liquid impregnating material 7 solidly-molded to cover the pellet 2 for the assemblage of a battery. Thus, the amount of silver in the silver layers can be reduced to prevent compact, thinly- made batteries from extreme reduction of capacity. |
