Glass fibre fabric with powder binder - contg. unsatd. polyester, di:allyl phthalate prepolymer, crosslinking monomer and catalyst

Glass fibre fabric is prepd. by forming glass fibres into a mat, and bonding the fibres by means of a powder contg. (a) is not 1 unsatd. polyester, (b) a diallyl phthalate prepolymer, (c) a high-boiling cross-linking monomer, and (d) a hardening catalyst. Binder is uniformly distributed between the glass fibres and is hardened at increased temp. and opt. at increased pressure. Use of the solns. of unsatd. polyester in styrene is avoided. Adhesive layer on the glass fibres is not attacked.
