PURPOSE:To enhance the productive capacity per floor area by using a vibration conveying apparatus, as a reactor, equipped with a trough fitted with weirs to continuously fluorinate carbon with fluorine gas. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fed from hopper 3 through rotary feeder 3a is conveyed in the direction of product receiver 4 on trough 1. The carbon countercurrently contacts to fluorine gas fed from fluorine gas feed inlet 5, and they react. When electromagnet 12 is excited with a pulsating current from the controller of a vibrator, trough 1 is attracted in the backward and downward direction, so the powder floats in the air and falls in front of trough 1 owing to gravity. Since trough 1 is then pushed back by plate spring 11, the powder further moves forward. At this time, the powder is spirally mixed with weirs 8 protruded from trough 1, and it well contacts to the fluorine gas and uniformly reacts with the gas. The reaction product is gathered in receiver 4 through flexible hose 14. |
