Described is an organic coating composition particularly useful in cathodic electrodeposition comprising a dispersion, solution or suspension of a coating composition containing an acrylic polymer; the coating composition characterized by being the product of a reaction with a fatty acid and also containing Formula A within said polymer molecule, and said Formula A group being derived from an oxirane ring wherein the coating composition has substantially no oxirane rings therein:Formula A: -CH2-C (Z)-CH2-N=wherein Z is hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkyl ether of 1 to 6 carbon atoms; acyloxy of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; (=O, as in a ketone)-OR']nH; -OR']nOH, and -O-R'(CH2OH)]nOHwhere R' is saturated alkylene of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms and n is from 1 to 6.
