METHOD FOR PURIFYING VENTILATION GAS IN ROAD TUNNEL

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove NOX from ventilation gas exhausted from a road tunnel by treating the gas with a silica gel-based dehumidifying agent, adsorbing and removing the NOX with a zeolite-based adsorbent, passing the treated gas through the dehumidifying agent and regenerating the agent by heating. CONSTITUTION:Ventilation gas exhausted from a road tunnel 1 by a ventilation blower 2 is introduced into the moisture absorbing part 4 of moisture absorbing facilities 3 and dehumidified in moving blocks 7 contg. a silica gel-based dehumidifying agent. The dehumidified gas is treated with a zeolite-based adsorbent contg. the oxide of a metal such as Cu or V in a moving block 14 in the NOX adsorbing part 9 of NOX removing facilities 8. Part of the treated gas is sent to the preheating or cooling part 5 of the facilities 3 to cool or preheat moving blocks 7. Air is sent from the adsorbent regenerating part 11 of the facilities 8 by a blower 12, heated to a high temp. with a heater 13 and passed through the heating part 6 of the facilities 3 to regenerate the dehumidifying agent.
