FIELD: physics; computer engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a recording medium and, specifically, to a recording medium and a method and a device for playing back a stream of text subtitles recorded on a recording medium. A stream of text subtitles recorded on a recording medium is first loaded into the buffer, where the said stream includes a dialogue style segment and several dialogue presentation segments. The dialogue style segment determines a group of zone styles and information on palette. Each dialogue presentation segment contains at least one dialogue text zone, where each text zone is related to one of the selected groups of zone styles, determined in the dialogue style segment. A text subtitle decoder reads a flag for updating palette, included in each dialogue presentation segment, and presents each dialogue presentation segment in accordance with indication of the flag for updating the palette. The flag for updating palette indicates whether information on palette, defined in the dialogue style segment, or new information on palette should be used when presenting each dialogue presentation segment. ^ EFFECT: recording and playing back a stream of text subtitles. ^ 35 cl, 11 dwg |
